All in a day's work for a court support volunteer

Lenny was being held on remand on a charge of GBH.  His mother contacted us after a prison visit.  She lived a long distance from the prison and needed court information - where and when he was due in court.  She was also very worried about his mental state, and told us over the phone that she was concerned that he might harm himself.  We were able to make an onward referral to wing and to make contact with the mental health team.  We found out the court dates for her, and accompanied her to court.
