Try to be prepared
Plan ahead for court appearances, ensure you are on time and report to the court usher. If in doubt, do a test run to see how long it will take you to get there.
If you are feeling nervous, family are welcome to come with you. Children under 14 are not usually allowed in the public gallery without prior consent
It is important to dress smartly, but remember, the Judge cannot see your feet. If you are expecting a custodial sentence wear comfortable shoes as you will only be allowed to take these shoes with you.
